At Grenex, we believe in making a meaningful impact beyond our business operations. Our commitment to corporate social investments is deeply rooted in our values of sustainability and community development. Through various initiatives and partnerships, we strive to give back to the communities we serve. Whether it’s through educational programs, environmental conservation, or supporting local businesses, our goal is to foster a positive change and create a lasting legacy. Our dedication to community engagement not only reflects our corporate ethos but also strengthens our bond with society, ensuring that as we grow, our communities flourish alongside us.
Mandela Day: Bonalesedi Secondary School
As part of a Mandela day initiative, Grenex identified Bonalesedi Secondary School in Mamelodi, Pretoria East and hosted a Careers Day on the 28th of July 2023. The school has about 677 learners (inclusive of 2 neighbouring schools). Esteemed speakers from the Grenex team delivered addresses to the students on career guidance, career advancement, options available related to Grenex’s operations and educational requirements. The team conducted a walk around the school and performed a lighting auditing that will be followed with lighting retrofitting. The day was a huge success as other stake holders were in support. These included Grenex’s partners such as MWEM, Oeling and the University of Johannesburg.
Women's Month: Empowering Women
Grenex (Pty) Ltd celebrates women. This past weekend, Grenex celebrated women from various professions in commemoration of women’s month. The event was hosted by Ms. Maria Michael, an Electrical Engineer and an Energy Professional. Annually, the 9th of August 2023 is celebrated as National Women’s Day to acknowledge the strength and resilience of women and their contribution to the society and the nation. National Women’s Day forms part of South Africa’s Women’s Month in which tribute is paid to the generations of women whose struggles laid the foundations of the progress that has been made in empowering women and achieving gender equality to date.

The much-appreciated donation will be followed by training in the use of the equipment and creating online educational videos. Grenex looks forward to fostering a long partnership of shared value with the University of Johannesburg.
