United Manganese of Kalahari Mine, Kuruman: Installation of a Solar Powered Borehole Water Pumping System
Project Summary: Design, installation commissioning and maintenance of one solar powered (12kWp solar system) powering
three borehole pumps to deliver water for a community in Frankfort. Project completed in partnership with LTM Energy Pty Ltd (2023)
Installed System: Installation of solar PV system in to power a 2.2 kW submersible water pump, lighting and plugs.
Installation of submersible water pump. Installation of a water storage tank.
Impact: Solar PV system supplies back up power to the school (access to basic power during power cuts or load shedding).
Access to clean water.







National Metrology Institution of South Africa (NMISA): Battery Backup System Installation
Project Summary: Design and installation of two 10kW 8 hour single phase back up UPS systems and one 64kW three phase,
1 hour three phase UPS system to supply back up power for industrial fridges. Completed in partnership with Difference
Approach Pty Ltd. (Sept 2020-April 2021)
Installed System: Building 8:Installation of a 10kW inverter, 5x 48V, 100AH lithium ion batteries, and connection of 12 load
(fridge) to essential DB | Building 6: Installation of a 10kW inverter, 15x 48V, 100AH lithium ion batteries, and connection of 4
loads (fridge) to essential DB. | Building 5: Installation of a three phase 20kVA UPS system, installation of a new essential AC
DB, and connection of loads (equipment calibration machinery) to essential DB.
Impact: During power cuts, the installed system provides back to the connected loads for up to 8 hours a day.




Ethembini Junior Secondary School: Borehole Solar Pumping System Installation
